We’re excited to announce Edmonton’s first UXCamp, 8:30-4:30, July 18th hosted at Grant MacEwan and sponsored (so far) by the MacEwan Design Studies program, Guru Digital Arts College, nForm User Experience (and you?).
UXCamp is for people who want to learn and share about user experience, design, usability, information architecture, user interfaces, service design, and anything and everything else about creating better products and better experiences.
Registration will open shortly, and the event is free, with costs being covered by sponsors (we still need help there, so if you can kick in even $100, drop us a note). We’re limited to 100 people by our venue at MacEwan, and spots will be filled on a first-come-first served basis.
Other cities have held UXCamp, DesignCamp, or InteractionCamp before, and we’re looking forward to growing the community in Alberta.
Who’s Responsible
Cam Linke started talking about a UX Camp a few months ago. Jess McMullin from nForm started to help out, and roped in Marc Brisbourne, MacEwan’s latest instructor in their Design Studies program. We can still use co-conspirators, so if you’d like to help out with logistics or volunteering, please let us know in a comment on this post or via Twitter (Cam or Jess).
More details soon.
